GE Shipping (10th March, 2005)
The Great Eastern shipping has taken delivery of its new Seuzmax tanker named ‘Jag Lok’. The double hull vessel of 159,000 dead weight tonne (DWT) has been built at Hyundai Sambo Heavy Industries and was contracted on March 2003, the company informed the BSE. With addition of Jag Lok, the shipping tonnage of the company has crossed the 3 million dwt mark, the company said.

Ashok Leyland (10th March, 2005)
Ashok Leyland has reported a 9.79 per cent growth in sales in February, 2005. The company sold 5,436 vehicles compared with 4,951 vehicles sold in February, 2004. The company exported 747 vehicles in February 2005, compared with 639 exported last year. In the first 11 months of 2004-05, the company’s total sales stood at 47,308 vehicles, up by 11.43 percent from previous year’s sales. In the same period, the company exported 5,655 units, compared with 2,938 units exported in the previous year.

Mahindra Ugine (10th March, 2005)
Mahindra Ugine Steel on Wednesday said it is planning to hike production capacity of its steel division to 2.40 lakh tonne per annum. The company would hold a board meeting on March 16 to consider the proposal, Mahindra Ugine Steel informed the BSE.

 

Natco (10th March, 2005)
Hyderabad-based Natco Pharma Ltd, on Wednesday said it has bagged a European patent for its invention - soft gel capsules - with an innovative drug delivery system. The patent has been registered in France, Germany and the UK, Natco informed the BSE.

India cements raises Rs. 123 crore (10th March, 2005)
India Cements on Wednesday said it has alloted over two crore equity warrants and 87 lakh optionally-convertible debentures for Rs. 123.11 crore to Mauritius-based ADRC. India Cements has alloted 2,96,00,561 equity warrants on receipt of Rs. 13.91 crore at Rs. 4.70 per warrant and 87,36,000 optionally-convertible debentures (OCD) for Rs. 109.2 crore, the company informed the BSE. The shareholders of the company has passed the resolution at the EGM held on January 17, and the board of directors had approved it at their meeting held on January 21, it added.
